Core Concept
At the heart of Celiveo’s print capability is a single, universal print queue deployed on each user’s PC using Universal Print or the Celiveo 365 Agent (WinCVP365 and macCVP365 Agents). Rather than managing dozens of printer-specific queues, users print to one destination — and the system handles everything else from there.
How It Works
1. Submitting a Print Job
When a user prints, the job is sent to the single Celiveo print queue. Celiveo intercepts it and encrypts it. That happens in Azure (for Universal Print queues) or locally on the user’s PC (with the Celiveo WinCVP365 and macCVP365 agents), where it stays securely until the user decides how and where to release it. With the Celiveo Agent, the job can never leave the local network, which is a critical advantage for organizations operating in secure or regulated environments.
2. Two Release Modes (license-dependent)
Depending on the chosen license, users can benefit from one or both of the following modes:
• Secure Pull Print (Follow-Me Print) — The job waits on the user’s PC or in Azure until they walk up to any Celiveo 365-equipped printer and authenticate via badge, PIN or NFC/mobile. Only then is the job pulled from its depository, decrypted and printed. This eliminates uncollected prints and ensures confidentiality.
• Push Print — The user uses the current default printer or proactively selects a target printer from an interactive map or a list directly at print time, and the job is sent immediately to that destination without requiring authentication at the device.
3. Automatic Printer Driver Deployment
The Celiveo 365 WinCVP365 agent features automatic print driver and WPP PSA deployment and configuration — when a user targets a printer, the correct driver and settings are provisioned automatically, conditioned by Entra ID attributes. IT teams no longer need to pre-configure workstations for every printer on the network and can easily deploy new drivers or WPP-compliant PSA.

Key Benefits
| Benefit | Detail |
|---|---|
| Reduced IT workload | One queue to deploy and manage per user, instead of one per printer |
| Simplified end-user experience | Users print the same way every time, regardless of which printer they use and if they need pull or push print |
| Security & confidentiality | Jobs are encrypted on the PC; never sent to a cloud or external server |
| Network containment | Print data stays entirely within the local network |
| Access control | Badge or PIN authentication ensures only the owner retrieves their documents |
| Governance | Print rules, usage tracking, and reporting are applied centrally |
Why the Single Queue Architecture Matters
Traditional print environments require IT to maintain a separate queue and driver for every printer model — a management overhead that scales poorly.
Celiveo 365 inverts this model: the intelligence sits with Celiveo 365 in the Azure spooler or in the Celiveo 365 agent on the PC, not in a proliferation of queues.
This means simpler deployments, faster onboarding, and a dramatically smaller attack surface, since sensitive documents don’t have to transit through an external cloud service or leave the organization’s perimeter.
